Yes, I think the fanfic, and the generally the athmosphere of reading critically here in LJ helped me to move there, and to pay attention to writing in different ways. Recently I was reading Issak Babel's "Konarmia", and I was in love with the way he has with words - everything is so vivid and bright and memorable. I was talking to my friend about it, and telling how amazing the descriptions of moon were there, and she said she noticed mostly horrors of the civil war - but, of course horrors are there, but the moon goes unnoticed..
